Mungwi Town Council Officers, District Administration and Department of Agriculture has joined other Local Authorities from Northern and Luapula Provinces to attend the Finalization of Citizens version Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Orientation on IDP guidelines and IDP/CDF Monitoring Tool workshop in Mansa at Teja Lodge.
The objective of the orientation workshop is to discuss the concepts and importance of Citizens version of IDPs, development of the Citizens version of IDPs with a view to finalize, orientation on IDP guidelines and Monitoring Tool.
The event has been graced by Luapula Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Mr Evans Sikhabuba who in his speech has said Citizens Version of IDP are vital as the make the IDP accessible and understandable to all stakeholders especially community members who are the ultimate beneficiaries of development initiatives.
Mr. Sikhabuba added that the program is a demonstration of the Government’s commitment in ensuring that all provinces are fully engaged in the planning process thereby strengthening citizen participation, accountability and ensuring development.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary reaffirmed Governments commitment to supporting Local Authorities in their planning functions stating that the Citizens version of IDPs will also enhance the effectiveness of the overall development planning and service delivery.
